Seemed quite clear to me' – Ancelotti unfazed by Valencia's claim that penalty award was a 'robbery'

Carlo Ancelotti said the penalty awarded to Real Madrid in Saturday's 4-1 win over Valencia "seemed quite obvious" when Los Che's official Twitter account suggested it was a "robbery".

Madrid went through Karim Benzema's 300th goal in all competitions for the club two minutes before the gap, the France international power home from the spot after Omar Alderette was penalized for a foul inside the field on Casemiro.

This led to a post on Valencia's Twitter account: "The robbery in Madrid has started to repeat somewhat."

The tweet also tagged the hit Netflix show Money Heist, which follows a group of bank robbers in the Spanish capital.

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique couldn't resist getting involved, responding to Valencia's tweet with the message: "Don't say it too loudly that you're going to be approved."

However, Ancelotti had no problem with the award of the penalty, telling a media conference: "From a distance it looked quite obvious to me but I don't know much more about what happened.

"I don't know what to say. I have to evaluate the game. We deserved the win and it's true that the penalty helped us but I think the game was done."

Madrid sealed a third consecutive LaLiga victory over Valencia in the second half, thanks to a brace from Vinicius Jr. - his fourth double of the season - and a second strike from Benzema.

Vinicius has been involved in one goal every 101.6 minutes in all competitions for Los Blancos (14 goals, seven assists) this season - his best ratio in a season for the club.

Meanwhile, Benzema became the fourth Madrid player to score 300 goals for the club, after Cristiano Ronaldo (450), Ral (323) and Alfredo Di Stefano (308).

Despite the duo's stellar form this season, Ancelotti hinted that he may be ready to reshuffle his pack in the coming weeks.

"I think we have to think game-wise," he said. "Vinicius has come back well. He hasn't done very well in dribbling but he was ready to score. He has scored from a forward area and Karim is always the same.

"We're going to compete, whether it's [Marco] Asensio, Rodrigo or whatever. He's done very well. No one is immovable because every sport is different.

"Today they have done very well but I have to think about other players as well. We are fortunate that these players are very different."

Madrid is next in action when they take on arch-rivals Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espaa semi-final on Wednesday.
