Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry (quad), Draymond Green (hip) miss loss to Pelicans
The Golden State Warriors lacked Stephen Curry and Drummond Greene for Thursday night's 101-96 loss to the Pelicans in New Orleans due to injury.
Curry hurt his left quad when he hit Dallas forward Dorian Finn-Smith's knee in the third quarter on Wednesday night.
Coach Steve Kerr said before Thursday's game that keeping Curry out made sense because the star guard's injured quad was "extremely painful" and keeping him off the court in New Orleans "not only gave him a chance to recover from the injury". But gives him a needed break.” He is not expected to play again for three days with the Warriors.
Green, who has pain in his left hip, has played in two matches since being relieved of health and safety protocols on Sunday. Green dealt with a tight right hip last month. Juan Toscano-Andersen (ankle) is also out against the Pelicans.
Curry said he hoped the quad injury would not last and would be ruled out of several matches.
"The body feeds the mind," Curry said. "So I hope not."
