Notes:
- David Healy was not selected in a Northern Ireland squad despite being available for selection for the first time since his debut. He had only previously missed out due to injury or suspension.
- Adam Barton's selection raised some eyebrows as he had previously withdrawn from a Northern Ireland squad as he wished to keep open the option of an international career with England. As friendly matches do not tie a player to an international side, his appearance could be seen as a "trial".
- The squad suffered a series of withdrawals due to injury and club commitments. Further Andrew Little withdrew due to an illness which also affected Michael O'Connor in the days before the match.
- The shirt numbers as listed on the teamsheet did not match those worn by Josh Magennis and Josh McQuoid who's numbers were infact reversed. This led to Pete Snodden, the match announcer, mistaking each player for the other as they came on as substitutes.
- This match fell the day before the 130th anniversary of the founding of the Irish FA.
